Why is it that toddlers in big glasses is always so cute? She thought she was pretty cute.
Every new day is a blessing. We want this blog to be a place to celebrate something special that happens each day.
WED - 4.29
Miss M continues to surprise me with how much she loves helping me. Tonight she decided to help by putting away her clean pajamas all by herself. I am so proud of the young girl she is becoming!
TUES - 4.28
Someone is following in the footsteps of her Aunt Katelyn and Aunt Nancy. She is obsessed with this doctor kit. She kept rotating between healing Baby Ruth, Mama, and Daddy. It is interesting that she keeps trying to give us all shots in our ears. I am not quite sure where she has seen this behavior modeled in the past.
MON - 4.27
We spent some of our last moments at Navy Pier. What a beautiful view of the city. Can't wait until next years trip!
SUN - 4.26
I love the fact that there are secretly seven people in this photo.
Me (due October 8th), Jeana (due July 7th), Maranda (due October 10th), and Jodie
SAT - 4.25
Miss M got to spend some time with grandma today due to the fact that mom is away and dad had an event to go to. I was sent this photo of her loving the new jewelry stand that grandma picked up. She always has the best time at grandma's house!
FRI - 4.24
Girls Weekend Away 2015
This year we chose to meet up in Chicago. Our first night took us to Medieval Times to watch Jodie's cousin perform as the blue knight in the show. In a crazy turn of events, we were able to surprise many members of Jodie's family who happened to be in town for the show as well. Even though our knight didn't win, it was a great show and we all had a great time.
THURS - 4.23
Change is always hard for me and there is currently a hole in the wall of my house. I know it will all be worth it in the end but this was a hard sight to come home to tonight. We are still praying for a smooth process through this remodel!
WED - 4.22
Dad decided that today was the perfect opportunity to do Miss M's hair all on his own. This is how we went to daycare for Crazy Hair Day!
TUES - 4.21
We have been taking swim lessons for almost a month now through ISR at a local hotel. They focus on teaching children/toddlers water problem solving skills. For ten minutes a day, five days a week, we have been suiting up and jumping in. Miss M hasn't been too thrilled about the process thus far. Each time she perfects a skill the instructor moves on to the next. They purposely don't explain much to the swimmer about how to perform the new skill so that they can figure it out on their own. Miss M doesn't care for this teaching strategy much since she is such a verbal little thing but it is proving to be effective. Just recently she started to enjoy herself in the pool. Here are a few pictures of her showing off both her swimming and floating skills! Mama is so proud and super pleased that the crying has stopped! I highly recommend the program to anyone with young kids.
MON - 4.20
Someone is so proud of her new found ability to hop. Today she was showing off by playing hopscotch for the first time. She kept running right into her daddy's arms each time after completing the game. It was priceless to watch and hear!
SUN - 4.19
The weather is continuing to get warmer and warmer and we are taking full advantage of it. Today was our first time this season playing with sidewalk chalk. This was also the first time she wore her new purple crocs that grandma found for us this year. Thanks grandma!
SAT - 4.18
Just a glimpse of the tasks mom has dad complete on the weekends in an attempt to make the yard beautiful.
THURS - 4.16
We were so excited back in December when Miss Jeana told us she was expecting and didn't hesitate to ship all of our maternity clothes off to Colorado with her. Today we received all of the clothing back. In typical toddler style, Miss M was most excited about the box.
WED - 4.15
Someone decided tonight on our walk that she is too big to ride in the wagon. This may have turned into the longest walk around the block in history but it was rather evident that she was pretty proud of herself. She is turning into quite the independent girl just in time to be promoted to Big Sister. :)
TUES - 4.14
The Easter bunny brought us a wonderful bubble machine that makes hundreds of bubbles all at once. This little machine is our new favorite outdoor pastime. Miss M loves chasing the bubbles all around!
SUN - 4.12
Seven+ inches gone! I haven't decided if I am a fan or not yet... Don't they always say that you shouldn't make any drastic beauty decisions when pregnant?
FRI - 4.10
Miss M showing off her one week of swim lessons thus far. She had so much time jumping off the side of the pool and swimming between mom and dad. She was even brave enough to swim a little on her own by the stairs. By the end of the night we couldn't get her out of the pool!
THURS - 4.9
It has been a long week of trying to convince Miss M that playing at the beach in the sand can be fun but I think we are finally there!
WED - 4.8
We biked out to a pier tonight and had the pleasure of watching this dolphin swim around the entire time we were there. The highlight was when the dolphin chose to swim directly under the dock where we were standing at one point!
TUES - 4.7
All of these kids love books! You can tell that all of them have a parent that is a teacher. I also couldn't help but to include a picture of Miss M and her cousin snuggling from the other morning. I still can't express how much joy I get from seeing how much she loves all of her cousins!
MON - 4.6
I think The Donut Experiment was the favorite place for the kids on this trip. They were able to design their own donuts to try in any combination of frostings and toppings. There is nothing like fresh, warm donuts! Aunt Bethany's favorite was the one with maple frosting with bacon.
SUN - 4.5
This is how I relax in the pool while Miss M is napping! Daddy thought it was funny enough to take a picture. I was comfortable so I am not afraid to post it!
SAT - 4.4
We spent today at Mote Aquarium in Florida with Lance and Jodie. We don't get to see these friends often enough because they live out in Colorado but, as luck would have it, they found themselves in the same area of Florida as us for a day. Miss M loves animals of all time (especially turtles) and had the best time! She still isn't brave enough to stick her hand in the sting ray pool yet though.
FRI - 4.3
We are on our way to Florida! Miss M is such a great traveler (as long as we have videos going for her!). We purchased a couple new videos for this trip and lucked upon a Daniel Tiger DVD in which he learns that he is going to be a big brother. It couldn't have been more perfect. Miss M kept telling the video that she was going to be a big sister (not a big brother)! All of the time spent in the car tuckers her out though.
THURS - 4.2
We are finally starting the kitchen remodel project that we said we would do when he first moved into this house (almost four years ago). We might be crazy taking on such a task while expecting baby #2 but things don't always go as planned. The goal is to have the project completed before summer... keep checking in to see if that happens!
