MON - 8.31

Mama was away tonight at Bible study which allowed for some Daddy-Daughter bonding time. These were the gems that were sent my way after their walk/blackberry picking adventure. Love them!

SUN - 8.30

Someone thought she was pretty cool when she tried on Mama's glasses tonight.

FRI - 8.28

Another visit to the Critter Barn. I was so proud of both girls who were brave enough to hold the baby chicks all on there own. Emma and I even fed the rooster (Colonel Sanders) who was walking around. Mara really wanted to feed the bunnies and I happened to snatch a photo the minute the bunny took what she was holding out to it (see top right). The look of joy on her face I will cherish forever! We also found the picket that had our name on it after our last visit to take a photo with. What fun on one of my last Fridays before returning to work!

THURS - 8.27

Reading one of two bedtime books with her Daddy. She is quite adamant that she gets two books before bedtime each night.

WED - 8.26

Don't be fooled...she is just pausing from all of the running around the tree she seemed apt to do this visit. I couldn't help but take a photo though. On an unrelated note - her running form is getting much more coordinated! Perfect timing since our soccer class starts up again in just over a week.

TUES - 8.25

Daddy showing off some mad dancing skills and Mara loving every minute of it!

SUN - 8.23

We had a free pass to the zoo so we took the Brunners on an adventure. Even though it started to rain within 30 minutes of us arriving, we were still able to see many of the animals. Mara talked about seeing the penguins the entire time and was so happy when we finally made it to that part of the zoo. The rain really started to fall at that point so we made our way over to the downtown market for some lunch and yummy snacks. Our obsession with popcorn lives on!

FRI - 8.21

She just had to try on a backpack while we were out today. She might love back to school shopping more than her Mom!

THURS - 8.20

Three toddlers and one 10-month old can make quite a mess! Here are a couple of photos of the chaotic fun we had today with Colin, Emma, and Flynn.

TUES - 8.18

The new tile is up and we love it! The project has yet to be finished but we are getting closer and closer. I remember thinking that this project might be done before the end of the school year...now we are just hoping it will be done before baby arrives!

MON - 8.17

Mara loved splashing through the puddles created by tonight's random sunny rainstorm. This girl is obsessed with puddles!

SUN - 8.16

Mara having fun with Mark and George while Mom was at a baby shower for Miss Maranda. All was well until the water guns came out. This little girl is still not the biggest fan of water that she can't control...

SAT - 8.15

Spending some time with Grandma and Grandpa before heading home. Mara loved looking at all of the flowers in the lovely garden in memory of her Uncle Chad. This week is never easy for any of us. You are loved and missed!

FRI - 8.14

The week went by so quickly! Our trip back was scheduled right at nap time and Mara slept almost the entire way! This trip could not have gone better with our little traveling toddler. I am so, so thankful!

TUES - 8.11

Having fun with Arlo and friends. I can't believe we are going to have a newborn around the house again in just a couple months!!!

MON - 8.10

Miss Jodie is so awesome!!! She made Mara's night by allowing her to roll out and make her own pizza tonight. Mara loved every minute of it! Thanks Miss Jodie!

SUN - 8.9

Meeting Arlo Maynard for the first time! We love him so much!!!

SAT - 8.8

Pictures from Mara's first airplane ride. She did so well and was such a trooper (even when we had to sit on the plane at the gate for an extra hour). I love that she is such a great little traveler. Also shown is her first experience with using silly putty on the comics. Thanks Grandma for the fun activity!

THURS - 8.6

Another example of how I am nesting this pregnancy. We were finally able to put up the sign in the girls' (there are about to be two of them!!!) bathroom. We stumbled upon this sign when we were in Myrtle Beach earlier this summer (I couldn't believe how well it matched the shower curtain) and I love the message it is going to send to my daughters!

WED - 8.5

I love my eager little helper. Tonight she helped me squash some strawberries for dessert.

TUES - 8.4

This girl loves to draw so Mom bought this new toy today. Someone is obviously in love!

MON - 8.3

Lunch date foolishness with Daddy...we might regret allowing this in the future.

SUN - 8.2

We have officially reached the "swollen fingers" portion of this pregnancy. Today was the first time that I had to switch my wedding ring out for my amethyst ring. I had to do this with Mara at one point  but I don't remember it being quite this early...

SAT - 8.1

Getting ready for our first plane trip. Today Mara's first pair of headphones arrived. This will make it so that she can watch Monkey on the plane without disturbing those around us. She is really looking forward to her first airplane ride. She has always made a point to listen for and spot airplanes in the sky and, whenever we talk about going on a plane, she is quick to state that she is going to watch Monkey the whole time. I just hope that it goes as well for all of us as it seem like it might!
