Finally! I love having time as a family but a little escape for Mom and Dad is nice too. Tonight we had our second date in seven months (way too long). Corey picked out a couple new places for us to visit. We listened to some live music, tried a few new drafts, and ate some delish seafood. Thanks babe for spoiling me!
Every new day is a blessing. We want this blog to be a place to celebrate something special that happens each day.
FRI - 4.29
This little china doll is seven months old already! She is really getting stronger sitting on her own and can army crawl/roll to get anywhere she wants to go. We are starting to sleep through the night on a regular basis and has the cutest squishy smile (see top right photo) which she flashes all the time. She constantly makes me giggle and I just can't resist kissing her lovely cheeks. I can't imagine our life without this sweet girl!
Look at how much she has grown and changed!
THURS - 4.28
Mara pulled her hula-hoops out last night before leaving for dance class and had little sis giggling like crazy as she tried to get them to work. Kenna thought they looked like so much fun and just had to play with them tonight. It is such a joy to see how much Mara makes Kenna laugh. Definitely one of the best things about having two!
WED - 4.27
Tonight marked the end of Mara's dance class. Parents were invited to watch what they had learned over the past few months. It was so much fun to watch Mara do her thing and she was so happy to have us there to show off for. We didn't know how this was going to go with a six month old on our laps for almost an hour but Kenna just loved watching her sister as well. At one point Daddy had Kenna grooving to the music as well which made all of the little dancers giggle.
Every performance deserves a flower and Mara loved being surprised by her flower from Mom and Dad when she got home from dance class tonight.
MON - 4.25
The entire family is loving this early Mother's Day present. I have been wanting a screen on the front door for years so that we could have a cross breeze going through the house. We found exactly what we were looking for for a great price over the weekend and Daddy hooked it up for us right away. Here both Mara and Kenzie are keeping watch at it for Mommy's friends to arrive for small group. We are going to get a ton of use out of this for sure!
SUN - 4.24
Kenna is obsessed with my water bottles. I can only assume that this is due to the fact that I am constantly forcing myself to drink from them. She is very interested in them all of the time and she is so content to hold on to one. They are a great motivator to help her practice her new crawling skills!
SAT - 4.23
A little science experiment at home for my child who doesn't like touching new textures. I never would have thought that she would be willing to play with it with her hands but I should know by now that she will always amaze me. Go Mara!
FRI - 4.22
I can't believe it! Kenna has started army crawling this week! She still hasn't quite figured out how to balance when she is sitting on her own but she is certainly on the move. Watch out world!
THURS - 4.21
This girl refuses a pacifier as a soother but seemed to love chewing on it tonight. Do I predict a tooth on the near future?
WED - 4.20
Kenna is really enjoying eating solids with us at the table each night. Tonight I was holding her on my lap eating a cucumber when she grabbed my arm and forced the cucumber into her mouth. I had never seen her do anything like it before! I was too afraid to let her hold it on her own but she did chew on it for quite some time. She loved it!
TUES - 4.19
I can't believe how coordinated Mara is getting! Last summer we had not yet perfected the jump but she definitely has mastered it now! Look at the air she got! In a side note, my girl totally knows there is no such thing as a mathematical diamond. Proud mama moment!
SUN - 4.17
It was just too nice of a day to not go first our first bike ride with both girls in the trailer. I remember Mara's first time in this thing like it was just yesterday. Her smiles were priceless and it looks like Kenna is just as big of a fan. Daddy is going to get some strong legs this summer pulling these two around!
SAT - 4.16
What a beautiful couple of days we have had recently! We are loving having picnic weather in the middle of April!
THURS - 4.14
Since Kenna has started to sleep on her belly we see her head pop up each morning when she is ready to get up for the day. Her new nickname might have to be "prairie dog."
TUES - 4.12
This is the first photo we have of Kenna really sitting on her own. It didn't last long but we are certainly going to be there soon! This summer is going to be so much fun!
MON - 4.11
Daddy got this brand new toy in the mail today and is so excited to try them out. I wonder how quick this new technology will become the norm.
THURS - 4.7
We spent some time exploring in town today and had our first taste of gelato. Mara is a fan!
Oh my goodness!!! The giggles were music to my ears as this was happening. Mara loved every second of it in the "hot bath."
WED - 4.6
Today Mara and Mom had a special date at the local aquarium. Mara thought that looking through the microscope at seashells was the coolest thing.
Right next to the aquarium we found a very calm beach that Mara was willing to walk on and even touch the water (gasp!). We will have to come back to finally get some good beach time in!
MON - 4.4
We all are loving this warm weather. Today Mara played with some bubbles while mom and sis watched close by. Kenna is always so entertained by watching her sister.
SAT - 4.2
Are we there yet? We are all getting a little goofy as we get closer.
We have arrived and it is beautiful! Let the vacationing begin! Also, don't be fooled. It took us a long time to get Mara this comfortable this close to the water. The waves were quite intense and a little too scary for our timid little thing. So glad we rented a house with a pool this week!
FRI - 4.1
And we're off! Day 1 of our road trip to Florida is in the books and things went pretty well. We stopped earlier than anticipated due to some storms with tornado warnings that we wanted to avoid. This means that tomorrow is going to be quite a bit longer than we wanted...lets hope all goes well!
