On tonight's walk Mara amazed us with her crazy peddling skills! She has been close for some time to being strong enough and able to figure this out but everything came together for the first time tonight. She was so excited and proud of herself! She told Daddy to go ahead of her so that she could "knock him down!"
Every new day is a blessing. We want this blog to be a place to celebrate something special that happens each day.
MON - 5.30
We are now up on all fours now. She hasn't quite figured out how to move from this position but she will be crawling like this in no time!
SUN - 5.29
Eight Months!!! Woo Hoo! And this sticker looked good enough to eat! How many more photos shoots am I going to be able to get out of this smiley little thing?
SAT - 5.28
Mara went fishing for the first time this morning. She didn't catch anything, which may or may not have been due to the fact that this toddler cannot stay quiet to save her life, but she had a great time!
SUN - 8.28
We really have the most helpful 3 year old in the world. She begs to help us do almost all of the chores around the house. She has to help us dust, vacuum, rake, put the dishes away, fold the laundry, and now watering the plants. I am NOT complaining!
FRI - 5.27
My little accessory queen! Mara loves playing with all of the necklaces that Grandma Woodard gave her in her little (Frozen themed...of course) jewelry box!
THURS - 5.26
Daddy is home!!! He has been in Nashville for a few days and we are sooooooo happy to have him back. This baby has been a hot mess with a slight fever, a runny nose, and a yucky diaper rash. We have to be teething because we have been dealing with these symptoms for a couple of weeks now. My poor baby girl!
WED - 5.25
I thought I was a genius when I came up with the idea of eating a popsicle on a walk instead of at the table. No mess, right? (Notice the popsicle juice dripping down Kenna's face...and no, she didn't have one.) Mom fail moment.
TUES - 5.24
This is what happens when Daddy is out of town on a business trip and mom has to try to put both girls down by herself at the same time. I guess she was just a little tired of waiting for her turn ...or just plain tired.
MON - 5.23
And all of the sudden Kenzie is Mara's newest best friend. It may have something to do with the fact that Mara makes sure to give her a treat each morning...maybe...
FRI - 5.20
Daddy got some new wheels! I'm pretty sure I suspected this on our first road trip after Kenna was born back in October. Mara is a big fan!
THURS - 5.19
This is how Mara takes the shoes out of the basket when looking for a particular pair. Only our daughter...
TUES - 5.17
More evidence of just how much Makenna looks just like her Daddy's side of the family! Here is a comparison photo of her with her Grandma Gayle. Craziness!
MON - 5.16
Hi Mom! Kenna has really taken an interest in Kenzie. She loves to crawl over to her and play with her paws. Kenzie just lets her play around and doesn't react at all. We really hit the jackpot when we added this little four legged member to our family nine years ago this fall. (Just typing that is crazy! How has it been nine years already?!?!)
SUN - 5.15
Giggles, smiles, and joy overload here today. I just loved watching my two girls play together in the tunnel. This really was the first time I felt like they were really interacting with each over and it was just the best thing in the world to watch (I may be a little biased)! I can't wait until this summer!
SAT - 5.14
Mama's little buddy at the fabric store tonight. We're about to get some new hooded towels and a new crib sheet for the nursery. Is it crazy that I think I may be able to complete these projects before the end of the school year in four weeks?
FRI - 5.13
Look who is sleeping in her own room! Mom doesn't know if she was quite ready for this yet but Kenna was a champ about it!
MON - 5.9
You can't fake these smiles. We are so blessed. I can't tell you how many times i just sit back and recognize how wonderful life is with these three. Lord, thank you for all that you have given us! How great Thou Art!
SUN - 5.8
Happy Mother's Day to me! We had some quality time with Grandpa Bob, Grandma Gayle, Aunt Katelyn, and Uncle Johnny this weekend. These girls love spending time with their grandparents and aunt and uncle! We ended the night with ice cream and my favorite photo of me and my girls yet! Daddy has some mad skills behind the camera. Thanks babe! (And even though it is Mother's Day, Daddy and his Mara-girl stole away in search of the perfect wish blowing dandelion. So precious!)
SAT - 5.7
It has been a long time since we attempted lunch out. Things have been just a little busy with two little ones. Today we had a family date and all went really well! I just love, love, love our little family!
TUES - 5.3
Kenna sat in her car toy that Grandma and Grandpa Woodard got her for Christmas for the first time tonight. She went right to work playing with the steering wheel and all the little attachments. Little kids are so full of curiosity and problem solving skills.
MON - 5.2
Mara decided that she was going to make a thin layer of mess using EVERY TOY AND ITEM she could find. It covered almost every inch of floor space in her room. We were thinking this was totally out of character for our little neat freak first born but then her true colors emerged in the form of a near panic attack when we attempted to put her to sleep for the night without cleaning everything up. Needless to say, we totally missed our normal bedtime while meticulously putting each and every item back into their proper location. This girl cracks me up!
