FRI - 9.30

She was running all over the house like this tonight! Super Mara yet again!

THURS - 9.29

And just like that my baby is 1. Happy birthday Makenna Lynn! It has been one hectic, sleep deprived, and wonderful year. It has been challenging more times than I can count but when you look at me with your squishy and oh so joyous smile, I melt! You are determined to prove to us daily that nothing can hold you back (or keep you from climbing on top of everything!) and seem to enjoy doing the exact opposite of what is expected of you at any moment. You keep us on our toes for sure but we wouldn't change your for the world! We love the delightfully crazy addition you are to our family so much!

WED - 9.28

She had to wear the hat tonight on her drive...silly, crazy girl!

TUES - 9.27

Yummy corn! Kenna loved her first time eating Dad's delicious grilled corn on the cob. She was literally stuffing her face!

MON - 9.26

Daycare has turned into quite the beauty school. This is what happens when there are almost all girls. Poor little guy in the chair...

SUN - 9.25

This is one tired girl! She never sleeps on her back anymore but this is how I found her last night. All of the partying yesterday really wore her out!

SAT - 9.24

Birthday Party Day! Kenna was more than happy to head to the store with me to grab some balloons for her circus themed first birthday party today!
I would say the cake smash was a success! There girl as quite the sweet tooth! Thank you to everyone that came out today to celebrate our girl turning 1. I am humbled by all the love that we are surrounded by! My girls are lucky to have each of you! We love you all!

FRI - 9.23

This car has been a huge hit from the start but Mara thinks it is even more fun when she get to drive her sister around too. Kenna just sits back and enjoys the ride whenever she gets in the car and Mara is so careful with her sister. If Kenna even starts to move, Mara immediately stops the car to make sure Kenna doesn't get hurt. She takes her roll/job of being the big protective sister so seriously! There's a lot of love there too! That is all that I see when looking at the photo on the bottom left.

THURS - 9.22

Look at those eyes! She has the sweetest face in the whole world! I just melt!

WED - 9.21

We got the best surprise today in the mail! Stickers in an envelope sent directly to Mara. It isn't often that she gets mail so this was a super special treat. And then to get stickers too...this girl was all smiles. Thanks Miss Sheri! You are so awesome and you made this girl's day!

TUES - 9.20

Daycare had to close today and we were is quite the bind. Thankfully, Grandma Gayle and Grandpa Bob were willing and able to help us out! I don't know what we would have done without their gracious love and support today. I smiled each time I got a little message with an update of what they were doing on their next adventure. Here they are eating lunch at the park before playing. Grandma and Grandpa spoil them!

MON - 9.19

We almost had everyone looking...and giggling! We are so blessed!

SUN - 9.18

Having a sister to do crazy things with is so much fun! I don't know where Daddy comes up with these ideas but I am so thankful that he does!

SAT - 9.17

Mara felt so useful and like such a big girl today when she helped Daddy clean his car. We'll see if she still feels this way in ten years!

FRI - 9.16

Bath time always brings out the smiles with this one!

THURS - 9.15

Today was the first official day on Preschool (no Daddy to help her be brave this time). Mr. Rex dropped all 5 GIRLS off today. It is quite the sight seeing them all walk together! And even though Daddy wasn't there this time, having her cousin Lauren and her other daycare friends with her seemed to be all the courage she needed. Go Mara!

WED - 9.14

Someone isn't feeling very well and it was a long, long night for us. Corey and I had to take turns holding this little one to get her to sleep at all. Poor little thing. I hope she gets over this fever and cold soon! Seeing her this uncomfortable just breaks my heart.

TUES - 9.13

How is our child old enough to be going to school???? Mara was more than ready to start the school year but this Mama is still trying to get used to the idea. Daddy went with her to the first day since it was Parent Orientation. Though it breaks my heart that my job does not allow me to spend these days with her, I smile when I think of how special it is that her Daddy is as involved as he is. He reported that she was very confident playing and working around the classroom while they were there. She loved figuring things out...she already knows where to put her backpack and how to move from station to station while in the classroom. I pray that she has a wonderful first year that will really lay the foundation for enjoying school for the rest of her academic life.

SUN - 9.11

Monkey see, monkey do! Everyone got involved with today's game of hopscotch... even Baby Ruth got in on the fun!

SAT - 9.10

Daddy is away on his annual Guy's Camping Trip. This means that the Thomas girls get to go be goofy at a craft store. These Thanksgiving headbands were just too cute to pass up. I love spending time with my little turkey and princess!

FRI - 9.9

We recently picked a theme for Kenna's first birthday party...can you guess what it is? Mara and I were trying out some of the party favors tonight... :)
Kenna loves this caterpillar tunnel! Tonight Daddy took the excitement to an all new level by incorporating peek-a-boo with it. Happy baby!

THURS - 9.8

Mara started dance class at a different school today. I am already much more impressed than I was with our previous dance school. She is a creature of habit though and change is quite hard for her. She needs some time to adjust to all things new. She says that she wants to go back to her other dance class but I am confident, if we give it a few weeks, she will come around. Everyone at this new place is so warm and welcoming! I already know her teacher's name (I still have no idea what her teacher's name was at the last place)!

WED - 9.7

This girl just wants to figure out life all on her own. Today's task was determining the logistics of drinking from a water bottle. Thankfully, it was empty during these attempts.

TUES - 9.6

Still one of my favorite things to watch and listen to! Exactly what I needed after my first day back to school with students. I am going to miss spending my days with my sweet girls!

MON - 9.5

Run, Daddy, Run!!! Watch out...Mara got ahold of the water hose today. The giggles...oh the giggles!

SUN - 9.4

We didn't want to welcome fall in too quickly this weekend! Enjoyed spending one last day playing on the beach and having a bonfire at Grandma Gayle's and Grandpa Bob's. Both girls went out on the paddle boat. Kenna enjoyed it but preferred to watch her big sis do it from the beach because she didn't have to be strapped into her lifejacket. Safety first my child! Also, Grandma found the most talented balloon animal artist in the world! Look at this Curious George balloon animal...it is amazing (hence the gigantic smiles on my dear daughter's face)!
Having some silly fun with my girl around the campfire! I love her to pieces!

SAT - 9.3

Such a beautiful day to kick off the fall season at Uncle John's Cider Mill with Grandma Gayle, Grandpa Bob, Aunt Katelyn, and Uncle Johnny. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that all of the attractions were free for the day. I never would have imagined that we would be able to get Mara on the giant jumping pillow (see middle photo) but she constantly surprises me with how big and brave she is getting. She was a little nervous at first but didn't cry and ended up having a ton of fun. Kenna thought it was amazing when we took her on it as well. Hands down, Mara loved searching for the pretty stones in the bag to "dirt" that grandma bought her! She worked so hard to find each and every piece! My favorite part were the fresh donuts and delicious fall apples. Fall in Michigan is my favorite!

FRI - 9.2

Corey was eating with Mara on the other side of the table and Kenna was crawling around on the floor. I left the room to take care of some laundry and come to back to find this girl has managed to somehow climb all the way up on top of this chair. The chair was still tucked in to the table at the time which is way Daddy didn't see what she had done. I quickly dropped everything and ran into the kitchen. She thought we was a pretty big deal when I got her off the chair safely. We, of course, had to restate it for a photo though. Don't worry folks, I am standing just inches away from her when we did this picture. Can't take our eyes off of her for even one second!

THURS - 9.1

She loves showing off her new skill of drinking from a sip cup! I can't believe how quickly she took to the new cup since transitioning to drinking milk from a bottle when she started at daycare was such a chore. Not complaining! I think we were due to have something go smoothly with this child for once! Good thing she is cute as a button!
